Welcome to the U.S. Institute for Scholarship and Exchange, a visionary organization founded by Hamza Tayebi. Hamza’s personal journey has been deeply intertwined with the transformative power of international education. As the founder, Hamza brings a unique perspective and a passionate commitment to making global education accessible to all.
Hamza Tayebi, the driving force behind our institute, earned a Fulbright Scholarship in Political Science in 2016—a pivotal moment that set the stage for a journey dedicated to advancing global education. As a Fulbright Scholar, he immersed himself in the vibrant academic community, contributing valuable insights and expanding his understanding of international affairs during his tenure at SUNY State of New York.
Hamza’s roots in Ouazzane, a town considered on the margins of Morocco, profoundly shaped his vision. Growing up in a region often overlooked, he developed a deep empathy for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. This personal connection has driven him to focus on applicants and those who, despite their circumstances, aspire to pursue their dreams in the United States. His story resonates with the countless others who face challenges but are fueled by ambition and perseverance.
Before founding the U.S. Institute for Scholarship and Exchange, Hamza served as the MENA Studies Program Director at the Takamul Center for Studies and Research. During this time, he chaired three international conferences, gaining firsthand experience in organizing and facilitating academic events on a global scale.
Today, Hamza resides in the U.S. and serves as the Department Chair of ESL at Taylor Business Institute. In this role, he continues to champion international education, emphasizing opportunities for disadvantaged students to gain technical and professional skills in various career programs. Taylor Business Institute offers specialized programs in Accounting, Criminology, General Education, and Medical Billing and Coding, providing a pathway for individuals from diverse backgrounds to acquire valuable skills for the global job market.
Through his extensive involvement in academia, Hamza Tayebi witnessed a stark reality—individuals from advantaged backgrounds were often the only ones able to fully engage in the comprehensive research experience. This included crafting abstracts, covering travel expenses, designing research projects, securing accommodations, and more. This observation underscored the systemic barriers that limited access to such enriching experiences.
